Why is this a good moment for traveling to Argentina?

Why is this a good moment for traveling to Argentina?

Wondering where to travel this year? Do you want to visit new places but you are not sure you can afford it? Then why not try coming to Argentina? It is a vast country with a mixture of landscapes in South America that offers plenty of activities to do. In addition to its exquisite cuisine - who has not been tempted to try an authentic asado or alfajor? - gaucho culture and tango, its magnificent sceneries, low currency, low-cost flights, and attractive cultural agenda make this destination your best option for 2019!

Wonderful Scenery: Argentina is home to a vast natural wonderland full of diversity: from the immense Iguazú Falls in the subtropical north to the grand Glacier Perito Moreno in the south, and from the Andes’ snowbound peaks in the west to the picturesque and various beaches on the Atlantic coastline. Each region in Argentina offers unforgettable attractions and multiple activities to do. Skiing, wine tasting, hiking in the sierras, camping next to deep blue lakes in the south, visiting museums, tanguerías, and other cultural places, are some of the many entertainments that Argentina provides. Adventure awaits in both the green countrysides and the wild urban cities!

Cheap Destinations: Worried because you might not be able to afford such an adventurous trip? Don’t be! If you’re on a short budget, this is is the perfect moment for you to travel to Argentina. During the last year, the Argentine Peso lost half its value. As a result, foreigners should better take great advantage from this. The peso exchange rate has slid up to 40 to 1 against the US dollar. This means that with US$1 dollar, for example, you can buy three tickets for the subway. The cost of transportation, then, will be very low and you’ll be able to get to know as many places as you wish!

Hotel and accommodation reservations have also been positively affected by the low currency. Because the future of the Argentine peso is uncertain, some apps and web pages for accommodation have opted to include their payments only in dollars, like Airbnb. In this way, tourists will not have to change their currency to peso and be affected by the constant fluctuations in the local currency.

Low-cost Flights: In addition to this beneficial currency exchange for foreigners, Argentina has also opened its doors to low-cost air companies. Since February last year, companies such as Flybondi and Norwegian Air Argentina have been operating in the country. These two airlines will join Level, a low-cost company from the IAG group, which also includes Iberia and British Airlines, for flights to Barcelona. And the Colombian airline Avianca that offers its low-cost services from Mar del Plata, Rosario, or Sky, to Santiago de Chile. Norwegian Air Argentina will offer up to 80 international flights and its national destinations include the cities of San Miguel de Tucumán, San Salvador de Jujuy, Salta, Santa Fe, Rosario, Resistencia, Posadas, San Juan, San Luis, Mendoza, Comodoro Rivadavia, Ushuaia, San Rafael, Viedma, and El Calafate. Thanks to these companies, tourists will have the chance to travel long distances for a very low price.

Cultural Surprises: If you’re interested in knowing about the cultural part of the country, then get ready! Argentina’s cultural agenda offers many attractions for tourists. As regards Buenos Aires, for example, it will be home of various international concerts that cover all ages and music preferences, such as the three-day music festival Lollapalooza, the artist Paul McCartney, and the bands “Jungle” and “Dire Straits”.

If you’re more into food, you should definitely be part of the Buenos Aires Food Week. There, you can enjoy the dishes from the best restaurants with discounts. In case you are interested in the local culture, then BAFICI, the international festival of Independent Films, together with the vanguard fair, ArteBA, is your best option.

As for other parts of the country, it is worth mentioning the arrival of “ Logo Hope,” a cruise that contains a huge library with more than 5000 books. It will visit the Argentine cities of Bahía Blanca, Buenos Aires, Mar del Plata, and Rosario between March and August. Each touristic city offers its cultural agenda, rich with all type of events to suit everyone’s taste. So what are you waiting for? Google your favorite cities’ agendas and start preparing your itinerary!
