Medical Volunteering and Internship

This Medical Volunteering and Internship Program is highly recommended for medical students and health professionals of every discipline. It takes place in Ecuador’s beautiful capital city, Quito. Here, volunteers may help those in need in the community who require medical assistance, while at the same time they can experience the culture, language and sights of this lovely place.

Based on their qualifications and previous experience, volunteers will be able to work and/or observe in local health facilities. A good level of Spanish is required, although our local partners may arrange medical-Spanish language lessons in Quito.

A large section of Ecuadorian society is suffering the effects of high poverty levels and a poorly-resourced healthcare system. They are in desperate need of medical volunteers to compensate for the need of doctors and a wider public health system. This project in Quito is ideal for students or graduate professionals who are willing to help less fortunate ones.

Project Highlights:

Medically assist the residents in Quito in essential needs, based on volunteer’s skills and training

Improve the health and well-being of the people of Quito significantly

Live with other volunteers and make new like-minded friends

Learn about the Ecuadorian people and culture

This area is rich in its nature, fauna and flora, but also in its people, as it is the home of several native indigenous communities.

Volunteers who are willing to join this program must be willing to assist with a multitude of projects and have a passion for the environment. This program is ideal for people who love the natural world and want to protect it and keep it sustainable for generations to come.

Teaching English

The Teaching English in Ecuador program is perfect for volunteers who wish to improve the future job prospects of the poorest children in the country, and to really make a difference. Our local partners are located in the gorgeous city of Quito, the capital of Ecuador, and a world heritage location.

Access to English learning is highly limited for many people in Ecuador, so the objective of this program is to offer free English teaching experiences to disadvantaged children in primary schools. However, volunteers will also be able to view the most wonderful scenery and meet a new culture. It is not needed that volunteers have had any prior teaching experience, but they must be native English speakers.

By being part of this program, and sharing their knowledge and abilities through English classes, volunteers will have a positive and long-lasting impact on the lives of many of the poorest children in Ecuador.

Project Highlights:

Help some of the most marginalized children in society

Teach English to children to improve their future prospects
