The history of the Kingdom of Cambodia has been characterized by long years of war and internal conflict. This left the country as one of the world’s poorest places. However, little does Cambodia have to envy in terms of natural resources… it’s a wonderful place worth visiting and admiring.
The average wage in this country is around 1 USD per day. Around 30% of the population in Cambodia lives in poverty, as they number almost 4.8 million people. Rural areas are particularly dangerous for many, as the access to drinking water is highly limited there. Even basic foods are valuable in these areas, rice being the most popular and affordable one.
Our programs in Cambodia allow our volunteers to live and participate in the natives’ daily lives and activities, while helping the ones in need achieve a better quality of life. Volunteering is about giving and receiving; our projects focus on the local people and their specific needs. We work along with locals, so you can be sure that your work will help them directly.
