I wanted to start by apologizing on my delay on this email. Thank you for making my experience in BA a smooth process. Our communication before arriving and after arriving was effective. For example, the package sent via email was helpful. It helped me understand the transportation and culture in Argentina before my arrival. When arriving my host family was very welcoming. I got to connect with them and build a relationship. If I was to ever travel to Argentina, I would feel comfortable contacting them and staying with the same host family. The orientation that was given to me the day after landing in BA was useful and helpful. They answered any questions I had and I got to meet other interns. One of the women I met at orientation ended up interning at the same hospital as me. We both interned at the largest Public Hospital in Buenos Aires. I was able to gain a long-term relationship with Dr. Javier M., where we still communicate long after I came back to America. We are planning to meet again in the summer when he comes to America for a conference. While being there I was able to watch surgeries, analyze X-rays, learn how to use surgical equipment, and interact with patients. The best part of it all was that I was able to meet other doctors from other countries that worked at the hospital. For instance, two of the doctors that worked for Dr.Javier were from the Dominican Republic and live in the same neighborhood as my relatives. Besides personal interactions, I got to learn about public health and explore my passion of one day becoming a doctor myself. This was a life-changing, cultural experience for me. It was everything I have ever dreamt about, to be in a professional setting with professionals that share the same cultural background as me. Since this experience, I have been looking into graduate programs in Argentina to study after I finish my undergrad degree. Once again, thank you for making this happen for me.

The team at CW Argentina were helpful from start to finish with the organisation of my final year medical elective in orthopaedics and plastic surgery. It was a privilege to be welcomed so warmly into the team of medics and health care professionals at the hospital, and an excellent opportunity to experience Argentinian culture and language. Pre-departure, my questions were answered via at least 2 Skype meetings, and I was given detailed information and advice about my upcoming placement. During my stay, CW Argentina regularly checked in via email and message to make sure I was doing okay, and I always felt well looked after. I am grateful for the opportunity to have lived with a host family, as this gave me an immersive experience of Argentinian family life as well as affording me my privacy and independence. My placement in the hospital was informative and eye-opening, and allowed me to cover both private and public hospitals and a range of specialties I'm interested in. During my stay I was able to travel around Argentina and nearby Uruguay, and CW Argentina helped me connect with other international students and volunteers in the city. I loved my experience and only wish I could have stayed longer.

I truly have to thank Connecting Worlds for their continued support during my year-long adventure here in Colombia. Cris and the entire CW team truly care about their candidates as people and not just as names of applicants on sheets of paper. Traveling and actually living abroad is scary and not a small task for anyone as it entails a large list of “news”: new language, new environment, and a completely new culture. After discussing a few different options with Cris last September I decided to officially apply for the English Teaching Fellowship in Colombia. After completely the relatively brief application I had a series of two hour-long interviews. Within a week after the interviews I received the great news that would change my life, I was going to Colombia! CW helped with all the logistics from the paperwork to applying for a visa via Colombian government. I talk with Cristina often here in Colombia sharing my experiences and travels with her. A well-traveled woman herself, I consider Cristina a dear friend now. I would highly recommend traveling with Connecting Worlds! They offer a variety of programs throughout South America and assist every kind of traveler in each step of the way.Thank you CW for making my abroad dreams a reality!

I can't thank you and CW enough for the amazing situation you set me up with. My internship is very engaging and I am meeting and working with a very genuine and interesting group of co-workers at the office. Lilian has been an amazing host and has not hesitated with helping me figure out my direction around the city. Last weekend, I visited el Tigre with Irene, and it was an incredible experience. Thank you very much for connecting us because it has been very nice having a companion to travel with. For the remainder of my time here during my internship, I intend to stay in Buenos Aires. I would love it if you or Daniela would inform me if the school is having any other cultural activities that I could be a part of! I thought the 25 de Mayo was a very fun experience!    Gracias por todo!   Jake, USA, Washington and Lee University

The Working Holiday Program by CW Abroad is a fantastic program. I went to Buenos Aires, Argentina for 8 weeks before starting my PhD program in the fall. I did my program at a Hostel, in the heart of downtown Buenos Aires. Preparing for the trip, the administrators, Cristina & Maria, were very helpful and knowledgeable. I talked with them via Skype as well to check out the program a bit more closely. Once there, they were still helpful with suggesting things to do and answering any further questions I had. The hostel staff was great as well. I made many friends from the program and they were also very helpful. I felt very safe the entire time I was there (I am a female), and enjoyed staying in the hostel as well. Breakfast was included and a couple dinners as well. I worked 3 times a week for 8 hours a day. I usually worked from 4pm to midnight, and was never scheduled on Fridays, allowing time for extra travel. There are also trips that the hostel could potentially set up for you.  I had a conversational skill level in Spanish before, and it improved immensely while there. I would say it is not impossible to get by without speaking Spanish, but it would definitely making your life easier. The staff all spoke English and some guests as well.

''From september 2007 to march 2008 I made a bike trip from Lima (Peru) to Ushuaia (Argentina) in order to promote blood donation. I was in touch with María before starting this trip, and she made a huge job for me, specialy for the end of the trip. She organised everything from Mar del Plata and thanks to her we succeded to make a huge promotion on TV and radio (I was for 20 minutes on Fox Sport for exemple). That allowed me to promote my cause, to speak about the importance of blood donation in all the world. Finally, I met María in her place, in Mar del Plata. I discovered a very friendly girl, who does her best to make your travel the best as posible. She made everything she was able to do to make our stay in her city, and in her country, the best we could hope. Knowing María is certainly one of the best thing of my six month's trip. As you can trust her as your best friend, it makes the trip safe and cool. I hope you will enjoy Mar del Plata, which is a very pretty town south of Buenos Aires. And I hope too that you will be able to meet María, who is a really good person to know there, so Mar del Plata will appear as a very nice and uncommon place ! 'After finishing University the thing I wanted to do most was travel and learn a second language. I came across Connecting Worlds which offered me the perfect internship, an affordable, well organised program abroad that allowed me to get the full cultural experience I was looking for. They even arranged an intensive course in Spanish for when I arrived! My first week was incredible, the perfect introduction to Argentina, I felt at home straight away thanks to Cristina and Connecting Worlds. Living with a family was another aspect that really made my trip authentic! Connecting Worlds placed me with an amazing family, who have now become my second and I know I will return and visit. My experience in Argentina was incredible, my Spanish really improved, the sights were beautiful, the people are amazing and ate my weight in steak!'' ''I recently got back home after spending a month in Argentina. It was life-changing experience which has allowed me to broaden my understanding about culture and poverty. I was able to work with a NGO in Buenos Aires, a program which works in impoverished neighborhoods of Buenos Aires and aims to give kids some leisure time and normalcy in their lives. Volunteers work with kids, somethimes teaching English, playing games, jumping rope, coloring, and drawing in comedors throughout the Villa. I also was able to experience the culture of an indigenous tribe in rural Argentina, the Perutí tribe.''
